2-Phenoxyethanol Multi-Compendial

2-Phenoxyethanol Multi-Compendial is a preservative that meets USF-NF, EP, and BP monographs. It is commonly used in dermatological products like sunscreen and skin creams, as well as in vaccines and pharmaceuticals. Known for its bactericidal and bacteriostatic properties, it is effective against a broad spectrum of gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, and to a lesser extent, against yeast and mold. With its low toxicity, 2-Phenoxyethanol is valued in pharmaceutical applications. It is stable, non-reactive, and soluble in both water and oil.
